2025 FIFA Club World Cup
2025 FIFA Club World Cup is coming to Seattle in June, bringing six teams from around the world to compete at Lumen Field. This brand-new global tournament is big news for soccer fans, and Seattle is one of 11 U.S. host cities. Learn more and purchase tickets to all matches here. You can also visit our FAQ below.
How is it different from FIFA World Cup 2026? The two events are completely distinct and occur a year apart. In FIFA Club World Cup, club teams like the Seattle Sounders will compete against each other (whereas in the 2026 World Cup, teams representing countries compete).
The tournament runs June 15th-July 13th, 2025.

- June 17, 2025: CA River Plate (Argentina) vs Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan)
- June 19, 2025: Seattle Sounders FC (USA) vs Atlético de Madrid

2026 FIFA World Cup
Seattle will be a host city for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the largest sporting event in the world. This event is predicted to bring more than 750,000 visitors to the region in summer 2026, with hotels within a two-hour drive likely selling out.* Sports fans are expected to travel city to city within the Western Region, staying longer and spending more. It’s estimated the event will bring in $929 million in revenue for King County.
Here are the key things to know:
- 48 countries will compete in 16 cities in the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
- Six matches will be held at Seattle’s Lumen Field (capacity: 68,780) between June 15 and July 6, 2026.
- Final team assignments won’t be confirmed until December 2025.
- Seattle Center will host FIFA’s official Fan Zone, accommodating up to 20,000 fans at a time. There will be additional fan zones in Bremerton, Bellingham, Everett, Olympia/Lacey, Pasco/Richland/Kennewick (Tri-Cities), Spokane, Tacoma, Vancouver, and Yakima.
