Tips for Holiday Hosting Without the Stress
With family and friends visiting for the holidays, Seattle Southside makes it easy to host your festivities.
It's a convenient location for our friends and family to stay close to the airport. And it’s the perfect place to shop for our holiday hosting essentials, too! From desserts to décor, these local spots have everything you need to impress your guests without the stress.
Shavonne (@thegoandgrowfamily) shares her top holiday tips for event hosting in Seattle Southside.
The first stop is Paris Baguette in Tukwila. Their desserts are beautiful and delicious, no whisking required. A glossy fruit tart, a seasonal cake, or a box of petite pastries makes it look like you spent hours in the kitchen.
Tip: Grab an extra loaf of milk bread for next-day French toast. If you want your cake to double as décor, pop it on a pedestal and add a few fresh greens. Keep reading for the best place to find them.
Next, Shavonne loves Lam's Seafood Asian Market for their fresh ingredients that remind her of home and make the simplest dishes taste special. Building a quick appetizer board with marinated bites, crackers, and a fun dipping sauce or pick up unique candies and teas for stocking stuffers. You'll find something special here.
Tip: Chat with the seafood counter staff. They’re so helpful and will point you to something easy and crowd-pleasing. Balance the sweet treats from Paris Baguette with a bright, herby salad or a simple seafood stir-fry.
Seattle Chocolate is a must for gifting. The store is super cute and they have the most amazing seasonal flavors to share or to keep for yourself.
Tip: Mix truffle bars and Jcoco squares for teachers, neighbors, and party hosts.
Finally, Zenith Holland Nursery in Des Moines has the perfect holiday decor to bring everything together like wreaths, garlands, poinsettias, and twinkly extras that transform a room. You’ll also find sweet host gifts like potted herbs and pretty planters.
Tip: Lay a eucalyptus garland down your table, tuck in tea lights, and crown the center with your Paris Baguette showstopper. It’s effortless, elevated, and perfect for photos.
